Straight up, half the reason i bought “Graduation” was because i wanted 50 to retire but that never happened even though Kanye MURDERED 50 in album sales. Kanye Omari West (famous for his teddy bear mascot and rockin those white sunglasses with the stripes) has received 9 grammies from his last 3 albums and is 30 years old. Kanye was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8, 1977 . He’s worked with many other big name artists, including The Game, Lupe Fiasco, Jay Z and Lil Wayne. I must admit though i could actually listen through all of Graduation, which is rare, usually albums have some terrible songs but other than “Drunk and Hot Girls” very solid album.
This dude is personally my favorite rapper, because he’s got mad talent. Born Jayceon Taylor, The Game (age 28) was raised in Compton, California in a Crip neighborhood known as Santana Blocc, because his parents were Crip. Jayceon graduated from Compton High School and after was quickly kicked out of Washington State University (which he had gotten into on a basketball scholarship) because of drug charges. Jayceon then turned to the streets and became blood like his older brother Big Fase 100 who was the leader of Cedar Block Pirus. After a drug deal gone wrong Game was shot 5 times and spent 3 days in a coma in the hospital which he survived and after decided to follow his rapping career. Jayceon got the nickname “The Game” from his grandmother who says Jayceon was always game for anything. For all you ballers out there, The Game’s son Harlem is actually the godson of Baron Davis because Game knew Baron from high school basketball. After releasing his first mix tape “You Know What It is Vol. 1″ Game was signed to Aftermath records after Dr. Dre heard Jayceon’s mix tape. Next Game joined G-unit so that both him and G-unit would receive publicity but that was however short lived because of the tension and many problems between Game and 50 Cent. While they were arguing at the radio station Hot 97 about whether or not 50 had written 6 of the songs on The Game’s first album “The Documentary” one of The Game’s entourage was shot outside the station. He is currently releasing his third and last album in June called “LAX” with the main track being Big Dreams, its a dope song check it out.
